Q.Why don't you show prices online?
PTAC pricing depends on quantity, model options, heater size, voltage and delivery location. Rather than one-size-fits-all pricing, every customer gets a quote built for their project, from a single replacement unit to a full-property retrofit.
Q.How do I request a quote?
Click Request a Quote on any product page, or email sales@ptacs.co with the model number(s), quantity and delivery ZIP code. Replacing existing units? Send the model number or a photo of the rating plate and we'll find the right match.
Q.How quickly will I receive my quote?
We usually respond within one business day. Large or multi-property projects may take a little longer while we confirm availability and freight.
Q.Do you offer pricing for large or multi-unit projects?
Yes. We work with hotels, apartment communities, senior living facilities, contractors and property managers on projects of every size, and can schedule phased deliveries to match your installation plan.
Q.Is there a cost for help choosing equipment?
No. Our sales specialists help you confirm model numbers, BTU sizing, voltage, amperage and sleeve compatibility at no charge.
Choosing the Right Unit
Q.How do I find the right replacement PTAC?
Send us the model number from your existing unit. It's on the rating plate, usually behind the front cover. A clear photo of the rating plate works too. From that we confirm size, voltage, amperage and a compatible replacement.
Q.What's the difference between a heat pump and a PTAC with electric heat?
Both cool the same way. A heat pump also heats by reversing its refrigeration cycle, which is much more efficient in mild weather, and uses its backup electric heater only when it gets colder. A PTAC with electric heat always heats with an electric resistance heater: lower upfront cost, higher heating cost.
Q.Should I choose 230/208 volt or 265 volt?
Match the voltage already at the unit location. Most hotels and apartments use 230/208V; many larger commercial buildings use 265V. They aren't interchangeable, so check your existing rating plate or ask your electrician.
Q.Does the amperage and plug type matter?
Yes. PTACs come with 15, 20 or 30 amp cords, each with a different plug that must match the wall receptacle and breaker. Order the same amperage as your existing unit unless your electrician has upgraded the circuit.
Q.What BTU size do I need?
It depends on room size, insulation, windows and sun exposure. Most standard hotel and apartment rooms use 9,000–12,000 BTU; larger rooms and suites may need 15,000 BTU. When replacing, it's usually best to match your existing capacity.
Q.Will a new PTAC fit my existing wall sleeve?
Most current PTACs are built for the industry-standard 42" wall sleeve, so they often fit existing sleeves. Some older or non-standard sleeves, grilles and drains may need adapters or replacement parts. Send us your sleeve and unit details and we'll confirm before you order.
Q.What else do you carry besides PTACs?
Vertical units (VTACs), window and through-the-wall air conditioners, wall sleeves, outdoor grilles, thermostats, energy management controls, drain kits, replacement parts and appliances from Amana, Friedrich, GE Appliances, Hotpoint and Summit.
Shipping & Delivery
Q.Where do you ship?
All addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. We don't currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes or international addresses.
Q.How long does delivery take?
In-stock items usually ship within 1–3 business days after your order is confirmed and payment is received, then take 2–7 business days in transit. Special-order and project orders may take longer; we confirm the ship date with your quote.
Q.How are PTAC units delivered?
By LTL freight on a pallet, curbside (to the curb, driveway or loading dock). The carrier calls to schedule a window; have people or a pallet jack or forklift ready to unload. Smaller parts ship by UPS, FedEx or USPS.
Q.What should I do when my delivery arrives?
Count every carton and inspect each one for damage before signing. Note any damage on the delivery receipt, take photos and contact us within 48 hours. See our Shipping page for details.
Returns & Warranty
Q.Can I return an item?
Unused items in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery with an approved RMA. Non-defective returns carry a 25% restocking fee; installed, special-order and opened electrical items can't be returned. See our Return Policy.
Q.Are your products covered by a warranty?
Yes. Every product carries the original manufacturer's warranty; terms vary by brand and model. If you have a problem, contact us and we'll help you start a claim.
Q.Do you provide installation?
We supply the equipment but don't offer installation. For safety and to keep your warranty valid, have PTACs installed by a qualified HVAC technician or licensed electrician.
